ReadingWillow collects the information you choose to provide when you subscribe, contact us, join a parent plan, or use the parent portal.

Depending on the service, this may include your email address, parent name, student name, student email address, grade level, and any notes you choose to submit.

ReadingWillow is an educational service used by children. We take the privacy of children seriously and comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) as they apply to children's personal information.

Student information — such as a student name, student email address, and grade level — is collected only through a parent or guardian who creates a parent plan on the child's behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without parental involvement.

Student data is used only to personalise and deliver learning content. It is not used for advertising, shared with third parties for marketing, or combined with data from other services.

Parents or guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us at contact@readingwillow.com.

We use your information only to operate ReadingWillow services. This includes sending daily emails, managing subscriptions, delivering learning content, processing support requests, and helping parents manage students and billing access.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share anyone's email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

We retain subscriber and parent account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.

If you unsubscribe or cancel your parent plan, your personal information is retained for a reasonable period to handle any outstanding billing or support matters, and is then deleted or anonymised unless we are required to keep it by law.

You may request early deletion of your data by contacting us at contact@readingwillow.com.

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections if it is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.

You also have the right to request that we delete your personal information, subject to any legal obligations we may have to retain it.

ReadingWillow validates submitted data before it is processed. Our forms and API requests use structured validation to reduce invalid or unsafe input and to help protect the service from malformed submissions.

Sensitive subscription actions, including unsubscribe flows and session handling, use signed tokens and secure server-side checks to help prevent tampering.

Administrative and parent portal sessions are protected with signed cookies and secret keys stored in server-side environment variables.

Parent subscription payments are processed through Stripe. ReadingWillow does not store full card details on its own servers.

Billing-related identifiers, such as Stripe customer and subscription references, may be stored so we can manage access, renewals, and subscription status securely.

We use trusted service providers to send emails and operate the platform, including services such as Resend, Supabase, Vercel, and Stripe where applicable.

Your email address is used only for the services you requested, such as lesson delivery, parent portal access codes, subscription updates, or direct support communication.

ReadingWillow does not use third-party analytics services or advertising cookies.

Session cookies are used to keep you signed in to the parent portal and administrative areas. These cookies are functional and necessary to operate the service — they do not track behaviour across other websites.

You may unsubscribe from ReadingWillow emails at any time. There is no restriction on unsubscribing.

Our emails include unsubscribe links, and those requests are processed securely. If you choose to unsubscribe, we will stop future messages for that service unless you subscribe again later.

We do not share subscriber or parent email addresses with outside organisations for advertising or mailing-list distribution.

Information is only used with service providers that help us run ReadingWillow securely and reliably.

You remain in control of whether you continue receiving emails from ReadingWillow.

Parents can also use the parent portal to manage student access and subscription-related actions connected to their account.

ReadingWillow sources some content information from external providers, including dictionaryapi.dev and datamuse.com, to support features such as word definitions and vocabulary suggestions.

No personal information about subscribers, parents, or students is sent to these providers. They are used only to retrieve publicly available language and dictionary data.

ReadingWillow utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) assistance to support the development of its platform architecture and to help generate and refine educational content.

This ensures a high-quality and efficient learning experience for all students while maintaining our rigorous pedagogical standards.

ReadingWillow operates in Australia and handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

If you believe we have not handled your personal information in accordance with these principles, you may contact us directly or lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
